The suspension of your car is one of those things which it is easy to take for granted. Unlike many parts, a problem with your suspension won’t stop the car operating, but it will make the drive jarring and uncomfortable and it will, if left uncorrected, lead to long term damage.
‘Suspension’ is the system which absorbs the bumps and irregularities on the road surface rather than transmitting them on to the rest of the vehicle. Things like pot holes, speed bumps and poorly maintained highways can all lead to erosion in the suspension system. The suspension of your car is made up of parts such as shock absorbers, springs, bushes and suspension arms. If any of these items are damaged they should be replaced at the earliest possible opportunity.
